A city is nothing without its streets. Quite literally, it's where everything happens. In New York City, the streets mean something more. Their names are iconic; the neighborhoods in which they reside known equally for what happens there as for the streets they contain. Yes, those neighborhoods transform and evolve, people come and go, but the streets remain a constant, the rare permanence in a city known for its ebb and flow. The streets in New York City have been there through it all, their names the same but what they represent, the visceral feelings they evoke, changing from season to season, from year to year, and from generation to generation.
